Any studio making a fighting game will want to have a balanced roster, but with over 80 characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, balance is a tall order. For as many viable characters there are in Ultimate, there are more that have performed poorly in competitive play. We’ve listed 10 characters in alphabetical order that we consider to be the worst picks in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, based off of community tier lists, performances in competitive tournaments, and our own experiences.
That isn’t to say that these characters won’t be effective with the right player in control, but you may still face uphill battles with these characters in most match-ups.
Nintendo jokes around with Dante s inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Posted by Dakota DarkHorse Hills • June 30, 2021 at 3:55 p.m. PDT • Comments: 11
Devil May Cry fans got hit with the monkey s paw this week when Dante was revealed as costume for the Mii Swordfighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Following the release of Tekken s Kazuya as the new DLC character, Nintendo UK shared a post pointing out the Mii Fighter costumes that are now available in Smash where Dante got his own little joke reference.
Separated from Lloyd, Shantae and Skyrim s Dragonborn, the demon hunter is down at the bottom with an also featuring tag.
Mythra
The launch distance of the last hit now changes depending on the opponent s weight.
A majority of the changes have gone to Ultimate s DLC characters. Banjo & Kazooie got some significant buffs, while Min Min and Pyra/Mythra have seen a few of their stats diminished. Mii Fighters have gotten some significant upgrades, while Marth has gotten some boosts in his Dash and Up Tilt Attacks.
Beyond today s balance changes, look for new Tekken-themed Spirits to be made available. This includes new Spirits for characters like Heihachi, Nina Williams, Jack-7, King & Armor King, and more. Plus, Jin Kazama s Spirit can be upgraded to Devil Jin at level 99.
