MD Creatives launch project to delve deep into the history of dance MD CREATIVES, has launched a new project to shine a spotlight on the proud history and heritage of dance and its performers in the region. The Dance It Your Way project aims to reach those that have been touched by the arts, in particular dance, over the years. MD Creatives are keen to hear stories past or present from Liverpool City Region residents of all ages about how dance has changed their lives for the better. Whether you glided around Liverpool’s Grafton Ballroom in the 1940s, enjoyed nights out at Cream or the 051 in the halcyon days of the 90s, or as a millennial have been brought up on flash mobs, Gangnam Style and TikTok - everybody has a story to tell.
MD Creatives creative director Miguel Doforo has been appointed as director of iconic radio station KCC Live. Miguel has been involved with the Knowsley-based community station since 2017, and his work will involve sharing good news stories, recruiting talented DJs and presenters to showcase their talents on the airwaves and playing the biggest and best songs to put smiles on faces across the area. Bolstering the ranks already by bringing well-known presenter Claire Simmo, hot-prospect DJ Erik McKenna and station manager Dan Sellman through the doors, KCC Live will now be looking to go from strength to strength as they plan towards their 20th anniversary in 2023.
MD Creatives will premiere their new production, The Journey Through Christmas on their website tomorrow, Monday, December 21. With live theatre forced to take a backseat this year due to Covid-19, MD Creatives refused to let the 2020 festive season pass by without some sparkle, so students set out to create a magical piece for Christmas, from script through to costume, set design and performance. Filming of The Journey Through Christmas, also carried out by the students, took place inside St Helens’ iconic Citadel building, and now MD Creatives’ newest venue in the town. Teaming up with local independents Toast, The Daily Grind, The Rainford Deli and Momo’s, MD Creatives also created 300 treat boxes, which will be delivered to some of the area’s most disadvantaged families in the lead up to Christmas.
