Mighty Swell Spiked Seltzer has started a Change.org petition to make “Super Monday” a national holiday and it may not be a bad idea because apparently a lot of folks are taking the day off, whether they get pre-approved for it or not.
A new survey by The Workforce Institute finds:
An estimated 16.1 million employees are likely to miss work on the Monday after the Super Bowl.
Of those missing the day, about 8.8 million have been pre-approved for the day off.
But not everyone’s so ethical, with about 4.4 million workers planning to call in sick.

Super Bowl Sunday is just days away, and like all big events of the past 10 months, things this year are going to look decidedly different, at least when it comes to watching the game.
A new Oracle survey finds:
While most people usually go to Super Bowl parties to enjoy the game, twice as many people plan to watch the game alone this year as compared to last year.
When it comes to parties, 8% plan to attend a virtual Super Bowl party.
Folks plan to spend between $100 and $500 on Super Bowl Sunday, down 7% from last year.
21% of people still plan to dress up in fan gear for the big game while the same amount are just going to watch it in loungewear or pajamas. And 6% of people expect they will just wear underwear or nothing at all.
TODAY IS:
Groundhog Day. That’s right, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he doesn’t see his shadow, there will be an early spring.
BFFs over BFs … A new survey by OnePoll has found that 56% of respondents – all women – said they would rather be stuck in quarantine with their best friend than with their romantic partner. And 60% of Millennial women said when it comes to being stuck at home, it’s sisters over misters.
Remember when you first got your driver’s license? You thought you were a pretty awesome driver back then, didn’t you? Well, a new survey found that 53% of respondents said they would be afraid to get in a car with their 16-year-old selves driving. (
