PEORIA The Fry Spot is poised to leave its mark on the East Bluff.
Opening at 11 a.m. Wednesday, the new restaurant at 3127 N. Prospect Road in Peoria is to feature gourmet, fresh-cut french fries. Local owners Jeremy and Cierra Sargent are the proprietors.
The Fry Spot menu also is to include seafood and pastas, but the potatoes are the main thing.
Fresh-cut fries aren t unique around Peoria. Any number of restaurants offer them. The Sargents believe what they put atop the taters makes them different.
Lobster and shrimp in a butter sauce forms one of the french-fry toppings. So does a surf-and-turf combo, with shrimp and steak. Or buffalo chicken. Or pastrami. Portions are large.
