Honouring Indigenous History Month

The month of June is  National Indigenous History Month  a time for all Canadians to celebrate and appreciate the unique histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis people. Recognizing the indigenous culture in our area is important because it is the basis of many traditions, customs, language and our connections to the land and life-sustaining resources.  There are many interesting facts, attractions and points of interest here in Windsor Essex that relate to our Indigenous History.  We encourage you to explore and learn while visiting the attractions listed here. Indigenous History Sites in Windsor Essex Point Pelee National Park is located on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Miami peoples.
