The Middletown Rancheria of Pomo Indians of California, Callayomi County Water District, and the Middletown Art Center (MAC) are pleased to invite residents from Middletown Unified School District and South Lake County Fire Protection District areas to vote in the Water Basket project design selection.
Lisa Kaplan, Middletown Art Center's Executive and Artistic Director, was this week's guest speaker at the Judge's Breakfast in Clearlake on Thursday. Kaplan shared the excitement of celebrating nine years of operation to the day, while giving a glimpse into the center's next projects in line.
There is a sweet spot of nature in Middletown called Rabbit Hill. It is owned by the Lake County Land Trust (LCLT). This 9-acre serpentine outcropping is a geologically and culturally significant piece of property, with 360-degree views. Rabbit Hill also has a sculpture (Invitation - Gateway to the Sky 2020-22) created by artist Marcus Maria Jung in collaboration with community members and the Middletown Art Center, in remembrance of the 2015 Valley Fire.
