You can unsubscribe at any time. Nearly one kilogram of pure gold has been uncovered by high school students volunteering at an archaeology dig outside of Tel Aviv, Israel, late last year. Two students from a local youth community stumbled upon the buried treasure while helping the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) as part of a Pre-Army Service Year, known as Shnat Sherut. Two students noticed a shimmer of gold peeking through the cracked remains of a small jar in the ground.
