Fitzsimmons honored with new faculty award
Eric Fitzsimmons, assistant professor and recipient of the Hal and Mary Siegele professorship in engineering in the Kansas State University Department of Civil Engineering, is the 2020 recipient of the Council of University Transportation Centers Cambridge Systematics New Faculty Award.
The recognition honors young transportation academics who have made outstanding research and teaching contributions to the transportation field. The council, in making the announcement, cited Fitzsimmons U.S. Department of Justice Young Investigator Award, his high-priority grant from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and a University Transportation Center grant from the Federal Railroad Administration, as well as the high esteem at which he is held by students for teaching and pedagogical training.
