MCQUEENS Dairies, which has a depot in Bradford, has announced a new supply agreement with specialist producer, Oato, that will see it delivering oat milk in reusable glass bottles to customers’ doorsteps for the first time. Oat milk, which already boasts fans including Oprah Winfrey, movie star Natalie Portman and rap star Jay-Z, is experiencing significant increase in demand across the UK and Oato’s oat milk will now be delivered from all 12 McQueens Dairies’ depots in Scotland and the north of England. McQueens Dairies has offered oat milk supplied in Tetrapak packaging since mid 2020 but requests from customers for products supplied in reusable glass bottles have grown rapidly over that last two years.
THERE has been a significant rise in the number of milkmen operating in Warrington over the past 12 months. McQueens Dairies has increased its delivery staff in Warrington and its surrounding areas by 20 per cent, with demand for delivered milk on the up. The company’s Warrington depot recruited seven new milkmen over the past year, bringing its delivery total to 42. This demand is being attributed to the coronavirus lockdowns, with more residents choosing to have their favourite dairy product delivered rather than venturing out to the shops. Chairman and founder Mick McQueen said: “Just 12 months ago, our Warrington depot employed 35 milkmen.
