DEARBORN HEIGHTS Hassan Ahmad, a resident for more than 15 years and a real estate broker with Re/Max Leading Edge is running for City Council.
After moving to Dearborn Heights, Ahmad met his wife and had a daughter and two sons, who attend school in the city.
“Being the proud product of this city, I have come to know the strides we have accomplished in the past and the areas of improvement that need to be addressed to move our city to the next level,” he said. “I felt encouraged to run for City Council to help advance the city and ensure our residents are provided with the best customer service they deserve.”

WARREN, Mich. – When we get older, we’d all be extremely luck to have neighbors like Bob and Debbie Geib.
The Warren-based couple look after their 94-year-old neighbor, Eddie Peischl. They knew he didn’t have a computer or a cell phone to get signed up to get a vaccine, so they got to work to help their neighbor.
“No computer,” Bob Geib said. “Just a land line.”
You would think a 94-year-old World War II veteran would be at the top of the vaccine list, but he’s not. Luckily, he has good neighbors looking out for him.

FRASER, Mich. – A Macomb County man is grieving not only his father’s untimely death, but the theft of his father’s remains and the rest of his belongings.
He’s said he doesn’t care about the Jeep, he just want his father’s belongings back.
“Like everything was in there. Everything was in there,” Justin said. “All of his coins, all of his military records, everything.”
MANISTEE â Tight Lines for Troops recently announced it donated $5,000 to three beneficiaries to help various veteran-related causes.
The first donation was to the Manistee Veteran s Memorial Park Fund, which was established at the Manistee County Community Foundation as a non-endowed fund to provide support for renovations and enhancements to the Veterans Memorial Park in Manistee. The park serves as a tribute to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice and to all who have served in the United States Armed Forces, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines.
The second donation was made to the Traverse City Chapter of the Northern Michigan Blue to Gold Star Mothers. The main purpose and mission of the Northern Michigan Blue to Gold Star Mothers is to provide an organization for families to connect; to promote education and informational activities that will increase public awareness of Blue Star and Gold Star Families; to support all families of veterans who have died during se

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â On Wednesday, Dec. 16, two teams from Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and Region 6 Emergency Preparedness partnered with the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans (GRHV) to perform transfusions of the monoclonal antibody Bamlanivimab for veteran residents at the home who met treatment criteria according to the Department of Military & Veterans Affairs.
âMore than 20 members met criteria for infusion and consented to treatment. All members returned to the COVID unit after infusion and remain free of any adverse reactions at this time,â said Anne Zerbe, director of the Michigan Veterans Homes. âAt this time, this is the second and largest single-day infusion clinic to occur in the state.â
