ALPENA The Alpena Kiwanis Club is seeking eligible candidates for this year’s Michigan State Police Law Enforcement Career Academy.
Since 1975, the Kiwanis Clubs, in cooperation with the Michigan State Police, have sponsored this program. Young men and women in grades 10, 11, and 12 who have a sincere interest in a law-related career are eligible to apply for this weeklong program, meeting persons who practice in such professions.
Through presentations and discussion, as well as a few basic training exercises, students get a hands-on experience that may help them to decide on such careers. This program is a sampling of the State Trooper Recruit Training, not a summer camp.
