LANSING, MI - Michigan has only used about half of its previously allocated $5.6 billion in federal COVID-19 relief.
House Republicans want to combine the rest of that unused amount with about $10 billion in new federal relief and state funds to allocate $13 billion towards pandemic relief.
The plan, proposed Tuesday, April 20 by House Appropriations Committee Chair Rep. Thomas Albert, R-Lowell, would fund a variety of programs, including vaccine distribution, COVID-19 testing, food assistance, remedial school education and road repairs.
