Council set to approve park spending, grant applications

Port Huron City Council meets tonight, and council members will be greeted with a rather lengthy agenda this evening. Council will also be asked to spend nearly $34,000 dollars to purchase and install new playground equipment at Gratiot Park with assistance from the Hannah R. Winkler Memorial Fund. They are also poised to accept the terms of a $500,000 dollar Michigan Department of Natural Resources Spark Grant and authorize a local match of$50,000 dollars for improvements at 16th Street Park. The city tonight is also slated to submit several other grant applications. Port Huron City Council meets at 7pm tonight at the Municipal Office Center.
