HEALTH Minister Terrence Deyalsingh implored people to protect their loved ones from covid19 infection by not congregating for Mother s Day on Sunday, addressing a briefing at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann s on Friday. If we treat Mother s Day as another excuse to gather at the homes of our mothers, we may not have those mothers for Mothers Day 2022. If you love your mother, Mother s Day 2021 is the mother s day where you show your love by staying away.
Deyalsingh said some who were direly ill with covid19 were finally admitting breaching covid19 precautions.

New covid19 rules: no concerts; only 25% capacity at places of worship

FROM midnight, there can be no public gatherings for entertainment or concerts; only ten people can attend weddings and funerals; public servants will revert to a rotation system for working from their offices; and places of worship are to operate at a 25 per cent capacity.
Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh made these announcements at the Health Ministry s virtual press conference on Wednesday morning, in light of a large increase in covid19 cases.
Deyalsingh said the decision was made at a meeting on Wednesday morning with the Prime Minister, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Stuart Young, chief medical officer Dr Roshan Parasram, National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds and Thoracic Medical Director at the Caura Hospital Dr Michelle Trotman.

Public service on rotation and concert ban among 4 new gov’t measures; bars and gyms can continue
The government reinstated four measures today meant to flatten the curve of Covid-19 infections, as Trinidad and Tobago reels from its highest surge of the novel coronavirus since August 2020.
Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh announced that all gatherings for entertainment and concerts are now outlawed, while the public service will operate on a 50 percent ‘rotational basis’, places of worship are asked to operate at 25 percent capacity, and weddings and funerals must be limited to 10 persons.
