Updated: 8:55 AM EDT May 26, 2021 As the country begins the process of getting life back to normal after COVID-19, many of those who lost loved ones to the virus are struggling with grief and guilt.“The latest memory that I have of my father was my mom’s 80th birthday party,” said Michelle Pepe, recalling one of the better days she and her father shared a year ago in Florida in March. Her father, Bernie Rubin, was half of the famous Massachusetts furniture store duo, Bernie and Phyl’s. “He was so happy. He had all of his grandchildren and his one great grandchild, and he was beaming,” Pepe said. Shortly after the party, Pepe contracted COVID-19. So did her dad. “I got sick on the 20th. My fever broke on the 28th. I got the call from the aide that he coughed up a little blood. And I said, ‘How sick are you?’ He said, ‘I’m fine. I’m fine,’” she said. But he wasn’t fine. The gregarious furniture family man would pass just 20 days later – alon
