Many social media followers of Barack and Michelle Obama expressed condolences on the loss of their beloved Portuguese Water Dog.
During his presidency in the United States, Barack Obama and his family were given the male Portuguese Water Dog as a gift. Bo was occasionally called First Dog it is reported and was later joined by Sunny, a female Portuguese Water Dog.

Washington [US], May 9 (ANI): Former US President Barack Obama on Saturday (local time) announced the death of Bo, the Portuguese water dog who became the first presidential pet in the Obama White House.
Taking to Twitter, Barack Obama said that the family has lost a true friend and loyal companion and that Bo was a constant, gentle presence in our lives .
