Letter to the editor: U.S. must share excess COVID vaccine doses
Maine’s senators should press the Biden administration to do more to share our stockpile equitably with countries in need.

This month, the Biden administration announced that the U.S. will support waiving intellectual property protections for COVID-19 vaccines and Monday went even further, reporting that the U.S. will send at least 20 million doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna coronavirus vaccines overseas by the end of June to help fight the pandemic.
While this is welcome news, to offer immediate support and end the global pandemic faster, the White House must immediately begin sharing excess COVID-19 vaccines.

Light Up Clermont Holiday Enchanted Forest
The Holiday Enchanted Forest at Victory Pointe in Clermont, will run through the holiday season until 10 p.m. nightly.
More than 40 trees decorated by schools, organizations, businesses and families will be showcased as guests stroll through the Enchanted Forest to holiday music. Kids are also invited to drop off their letters for Santa in Santa’s Mailbox and families can enjoy holiday photo opportunities.
The event is free.
