Com, but we welcome viewers from pbs. Polls have now closed in 49 states, everywhere but alaska. A new result, one of the biggest contests with scott walker, he is the apparent winner. Republicans win the big governors races of the night in wisconsin, with scott walker and in florida with rick scott. That is major news, for chris christie, the governor of new jersey. Those races would have given democrats a huge consolation prize. Instead he manages to hold those. Lots of other governors races, where there
Should be already gone. We saw blanche lambert in the last round of midterms. Everyone knew she was going to lose by labor day. And yet they are still within one point, two points, here and there, in the senate races in particular. Why are they hanging around . Thats a good question. In 2006, we saw the same thing as republicans. That was the wave election on the other side. The walking wounded. They were not going to come back. I think you have two things going on. Regardless of how well the ground game turns out, they have been able to improve it from where it was in 2010. They have brought new people into the process. You are seeing some of that in the polls. That is why there is not a 10 or 15 point gap between the republican and democratic candidate. A lot of these folks are incumbents. It is still tough to be an incumbent, particularly when people are frustrated. The alternative is not something that voters are not particularly interested in. A republican party, if they do win co
