IT is well documented that TT has a forex shortage thanks to our liking for foreign items such as food and vehicles. Now sperm can be added to that import list, as a lack of suitable donors and the Zika virus has forced the TT IVF and Fertility Centre to import sperm.
Director of the centre Dr Catherine Minto-Bain said from samples taken in 2012, there was only one viable candidate.
