Unwinding of COVID-related Medicaid benefits kicks 53,000 Hoosiers off coverage

States across the U.S. are removing hundreds of thousands of Medicaid beneficiaries from the rolls after the expiration of the federal health emergency that ended in April.

New state data shows more than 46,000 Hoosiers were unenrolled from Medicaid due to “procedural reasons” last month. An additional more than 6,000 Hoosiers were determined ineligible and transferred to marketplace insurance.
