The new St. Joseph city commissioner has been selected on the first vote. Mayor Mike Garey made the nomination last night.
“I want to put forward the name of Michele Binkley to fill the next seat for Peggy Getty,” said Garey. “That would be my motion.”
Binkley was elected with a 3-1 vote and will be sworn in before the next meeting. She replaces Peggy Getty, who resigned Monday night due to moving to South Bend.
