The council approached a local resident with some extra land north of the village’s current playpark and Mayor Leon Gilbertson asked this individual for permission to use the land for their outdoor rink project. The individual gave their consent and now the council is planning this project with the help of some local farmers. “I have such admiration for farmers, they always have such out of the box ideas. They are smart thinkers. We had two on our team at the last meeting and they proposed a very cheap or perhaps even free solution to how we were going to build this rink” Amy explains.
