Six politicians of the far-right People’s Party Our Slovakia – including prominent faces MEP Milan Uhrík (Independent) and rising star of the Slovak far-right Milan Mazurek – are leaving the party after its leader, Marian Kotleba, attempted to secure his position as party leader.
“All of them share my view of the events of recent weeks and they do not want to be part of a so-called new system in the party operation,” Uhrík said in a statement published on Facebook. Uhrík’s departure means the party lost both of their former MEPs as former MEP Miroslav Radačovský left the party last year.
