lots of tributes today and rightly so to the great motown songwriter barrett strong, who has died aged 81. time for a look at the weather. here s chris fawkes. today we had some decent sunshine and a lot of dry weather. probably one of the best days of the week, with sunshine and relatively mild area as well. but we have got a change on the way. the weather is about to get a lot windier. zooming into the north atlantic, we can see this beautiful area of low pressure with the weather fronts spiralling down into the centre of the low pressure like water down the plug hole. actually, although this is over 1000 miles away, the fronts are connected and dangling right across the uk at the moment and pushing the rain south and east. they will bring outbreaks of rain overnight, the one here is quite weak and the cold front bringing some heavier rain for a time southwards across scotland, northern ireland and into parts of northern england and north wales by the end of the night. alth
