into your teens you wanted to tell your crush how you felt. you know, you wanted to go on a date with her. but, instead, you just botched your words and it all came out wrong. i m george, george mcfly. density. you are destiny. insulting people you are try to bring over what you do best. domestic terrorists calling all whites racist. calling flyover country. neanderthals. democrats let you say have a way with words. and they don t know how to act around people different than they are. democratic presidential candidate tom steyer tried to dance like that to impress black people? remember when pelosi and other democrats wore tribal gear from ghana and kneeled in the capitol for george floyd and who could forget hillary pandering to black voters and asking is it working? what s something you always carry with you. hot sauce. really? yeah. yeah. really? you get in formation right now? 15% minimum tax on large corporations. joe biden says at the end of the day, it is a win for the everyday americans. it s a game changer for ordinary folks. some of it won t kick in for a little bit, but it s all good. [ inaudible ] so will this streak of legislative wins help set the stage for a political rebound for democrats in november? victories, though, in washington rarely translate into success at the ballot box. just ask former president barack obama after he passed sweeping health care and financial reform packages, and still lost democratic control of congress. but will this time be different? things change pretty rapidly. joining me now from capitol hill are my guests. so, sahill, what s the word? well, it s been such a roller coaster journey for this piece of legislation over the last 18 months, it s had more deaths and resurrections. it got over the senate with a 50-50 vote broken by vice president kamala harris. after three dozen amendments were voted on,
piece of legislation, the vote 51-50 for the inflation reduction act and a sweeping 700 plus diamond bill on health care, prescription drugs and climate with all 50 republicans voting against and vice president kamala harris breaking the tie. if the house passed the bill later this week as expected, democrats would have passed a landmark piece of legislation as described by the washington post as quote one of the most consequential pieces of economic policy in u.s. history and it comes at the string of legislative victories for joe biden as the times put it, capped off an extraordinarily productive run for a congress better known for its paralysis and it included passage and the first bipartisan gun safety legislation in a generation and a huge microchip reduction to bolster american competitiveness with china and a major veterans health care measure. a series of successes was all of the more sweet for democrats because it came with the political benefit of republicans maki
