Woman allegedly arrested for stabbing through mistaken identity settles litigation with Pittsburgh police entities

PITTSBURGH – A local woman who alleged she was wrongfully arrested by the City of Pittsburgh’s police officers in connection with a stabbing due to mistaken identity, has settled her litigation.

AT&T says Pittsburgh violated federal law in its limiting of placement for small cell wireless equipment

Schubert | Riley Riper Hollin & Colagreco PITTSBURGH – AT&T has sued both the City of Pittsburgh and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, claiming both entities violated the Telecommunications Act of 1996, in their limiting of the company’s ability to place “small cell” wireless facilities on telephone poles in the City’s rights-of-way. New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC (doing business as “AT&T Mobility”) of King of Prussia filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania on April 6 versus the defendants. “AT&T has been attempting to place ‘small cell’ wireless facilities (i.e., small antennas and related equipment) on poles in the City’s rights-of-way, to provide and improve wireless services in the City,” the suit states.

Mistaken identity stabbing update: City of Pittsburgh denies it wrongfully arrested plaintiff

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania PITTSBURGH – The City of Pittsburgh denies allegations that it wrongfully arrested a local woman for a stabbing incident that occurred in the city, due to a case of mistaken identity. Desiree Pinkston of New Kensington first filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania on Sept. 23 versus the City of Pittsburgh, Officer Morgan J. Logan and John Doe officers, all of Pittsburgh. “On Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019 City of Pittsburgh police officers, including defendant Morgan J. Logan caused a criminal complaint to be issued against Pinkston, based on an affidavit of probable cause prepared by Logan as the charging officer, concerning a stabbing incident that occurred in the East Hills section of the City of Pittsburgh,” the suit stated.
