Convicted murderer Michael Duane Zack III, who killed two women he met in bars along the Florida Panhandle, was executed by lethal injection at Florida State Prison. Zack, who suffered from fetal alcohol syndrome and post-traumatic stress disorder, was sentenced to death despite his lawyers arguing for a lesser penalty due to his mental disabilities. Zack refused a last meal and his final words were "I love you all." His crime spree involved theft, rape, and the murder of Ravonne Smith and Laura Rosillo, for which he was sentenced to life in prison. Governor Ron DeSantis signed his death warrant in August.
