DUE to Covid-19 travel restrictions, a pair of twins from China’s Harbin City will spend Chinese New Year alone at a boarding school in Melaka, reported Sin Chew Daily.
Brothers Yi Xiang and Yi Shun, who enrolled at the Pay Fong High School in 2019, said with all the other students having gone back for the festive period, it was as if the entire school “belongs to us”.
The two described the experience as “refreshing” but it did not stop them from feeling homesick.
According to the 18-year-olds, their parents and grandparents were in a situation akin to theirs as Harbin was also under lockdown, with inter-city travel banned.
