The Luzerne County Board of Elections on Wednesday will begin a state-mandated recount of votes cast for the Republican nomination for a U.S. Senate seat in the May 17 primary.
The tabulation of mail-in ballots from the primary election in Luzerne County has finished for Tuesday with about 11,000 ballots yet to be counted, acting county Manager Romilda Crocamo said.
Primary election day went relatively smoothly in Luzerne County, though the county did not finish its tabulation of mail-in ballots because of a staffing shortage, officials said Tuesday.
