And those that have lost loved ones give them hope and faith and flawless. And those that have lost their jobs or their wellbeing, dont have nutrition or opportunities to take care of their family, keep them safe, we will get through this, times will be better. And to the police, give them the fortitude to carry on for peace in their hearts and understanding and acceptance and peace in the hearts of the protesters as well. Next, the story of Christa Mcauliffe, one of the crewmembers on board of the illfated Space Shuttle challenger. 15 seconds. 10. We were in the grandstands and we were located directly behind christas parents. Lift off. After the launch, everyone was yelling and very thrilled that we were seeing our colleague fly in space. The sequencing of it was such that after a proximally two minutes we are supposed to see , the separation of the solid rocket boosters, two minutes and 10 seconds. And i knew the sequencing and after about a minute and 30 seconds, we started to see some plumes that were not correct. And the vast majority of the people in the grandstand there, who were not familiar with the sequencing, they were cheering. And i said no, thats not right. Something is wrong. At that point, the announcer at the Kennedy Space center said over the intercom, there appears to have been a major malfunction. In fact, ill never in my life forget those words that first came over. I am saying to p
After approximately two minutes we were supposed to see the separation of the solid rocket boosters. I knew the sequences here after about a minute over 30 seconds, we started to see some plumes that were not correct. The vast majority of the people in the grandstands were not familiar with the sequencing and were cheering as they saw this. I was going thats not right, something is wrong. The announcer at the Goddard Space Center said there appears to have been a major malfunction. Will never forget those words i am saying to the people around me, that is not right, something is wrong. At that point after a few more seconds he said it appears the shuttle has exploded, we are seeing pieces falling down from the sky. Today is a day for morning and remembering. We recall the tragedy of the shuttle challenger. Loss. S truly a national 19 years ago almost to the day we lost three astronauts in a terrible accident on the ground, but we never lost an astronaut in flight. We have never had a t
Happy friday, april 24 and lets check with Steve Paulson and i heard you say a little change in the weather back and forth the next few days. I would say the next couple of weeks, it will warm up and cool down and then warmup and cooldown going to early may. Today will be one of the warmest days although yesterday it is tough to be 89 for a sum locations but highpressure is a fair weather friend and sfos is mostly cloudy with that is deceiving, they are up a 20,000 feet and will not last long i went upper 80s but again it is almost impossible to try to nail some of these when temperatures are that warm because 50s at the start 57 and santa rosa and san jose but were running cooler for areas that are usually pretty warm and we were yesterday like in fairfield and concord. But the High Pressure is still owing to be large and in charge which will equal temperatures well above average and even the coastal bay will get in on this, santa rosa at 88 and livermore at 86. All right Sal Castaned
The water temperatures are realy cold. Santa rosa is 60. The north wind and if that holds, we go to 90s. Most locations are in the upper 80 razment theres northwest and then a 37 in big rock. Thats northwest of 35 at middle peak and then theres a pretty good breeze in place and temperatures up they go. Everyone is above average including San Francisco to 88 in santa rosa. Lets head over to sal now and see if theres anything on our friday. Youre spot on about people going faster. I have seen that, sal. Now that you have mentioned it, i notice it more. Yeah, cannot drive in the fast line because someone will always be tailgating you. Youre right. Be careful out there. I want to show you something here when it comes to the construction work in San Francisco. As you know theyre doing the maize project and turning down the over pass. They have had to close the freeway lanes to do this. The traffic is light. Thats why theyre doing this. This is 101 in San Francisco near the 280 interchange.
