CORONAVIRUS cases have doubled in two days across Northern Ireland, with a further 1,380 people testing positive.
No further deaths have been recorded, leaving the death toll since the pandemic began at 2,159, according to the Department of Health.
On Wednesday, 636 new positive cases were confirmed.
A total of 92 Covid inpatients were being treated in hospital yesterday, up 12 from the previous day. Two patients were in ICU.
Concerns are growing about the increasing number of younger people being admitted to hospital with the more infectious Delta variant.
