Should happen to the fees. I dont know if we can say that. Im concerned about that. I guess you could express your desire and emotion, but its not going to be legally binding on the appeals or the department. So would we uphold the existing fee or remain silent on it . I think you have to impose the assessment of costs. Or you could reduce it, if you wanted to. We can reduce it, but we have to assign the fees. Okay. I dont think we can again, i think we can say what our desire is or we can say in Public Comment what our hope to the resolution is, but it needs to be binding. To the chair, this is throwing the baby out with the bath water, but if we reduce the fees now with the notion that were being proactive in having these others come together, well take that risk that everybody is going to come to a conclusive decision. What were interested in is getting resolution. We have the autonomy now to come out in front of it and say, heres what were going to do to help the case. Now the part
But it is going to need to evolve over time. So to kind of help us keep track of that, making this a living plan and making it where on some regular basis, we are reporting either planning to the mayors office, here at the commission, from planning staff, what did we just do in the last few months . How is it working to the extend that we know what is on our list right now, what are some of things you heard about what weve changed. We want to keep the conversation going because you have to keep asking yourself are you doing things the right way. It is not just like a thing well do and walk away and move on with our lives. I have three buckets you may be asking yourselfs, are you just going to go do this or is there a process for the process for the process . Of course theres process. Thats what we do, right . It depends on what it is were talking about. If it is something where it is a commission policy, which is i dont think a large part of that universe, obviously well be here and ta
You can continue it to another meeting. At least one more. Okay. Commissioner walker . The planning process reviews all of this, right . Yes. So they can take the whole so if we hold it in advance for 60 days, they file a permit, then they have to pay the fee, correct . I think they have to pay the fee to get the permit. To get the permit. To get the permit . To receive it . Or to start the application . Well collect the fees at issuance. It could be at the planning department. Commissioner mccarthy . Im kind of putting myself in the Property Owners shoes here. Theyve got to make some hard choices here. Im just kind of offering an olive branch here saying, please, make the right choice here, and, by the way, we have the autonomy to do that. Hes here asking for a fee reduction. I think thats good. Were doing it on that context. I dont think we can reverse that decision afterwards. I think we make a decision, as a commission, to try to incentivize. I think that was the word used. I think
That is in a binder, but we have had some, its difficult to, you are getting something for free, which we are, getting for free, the publication, subject to delays. A little frustrating but we are getting it done pro bono, so you will have, in a book form, a bound copy that we intend to distribute to every unit or company within a station. We have 300 copies coming, that will be in book format. Some will be just sort of a simple binding and some a coil binding. And as soon as we get those, we are supposed to get the shipment today, but i want to let you know this is available, and to answer your question, we will also distribute it in a p. D. F. Format, so it can be copied. Its meant to be shared. Wonderful, thank you. Thank you, commissioner hardeman. Madam secretary, would you call the next item. Item ten, closed session, Public Employee performance evaluation of Fire Commission secretary. Item a, Public Comment on all matters pertaining to potential closed session. President cleavel
We had a fourdoor chrysler large formula retail on geary street and they came and wanted a starbucks but in that case, you bought the starbucks at the starbucks. Its a little different. Its a car dealer selling starbucks. This is a food this is a Grocery Store selling sushi. The one thing i was concerned about here is that they dont take theyre not taking sales area away from a store which is already smaller than the typical large scale whole foods. So, 400 square feet, if that would have come out of the sales area, i would have been concerned. If it is coming out of the sales area and theyre selling shirts. But its coming out of the sales area and selling food that theyre selling anyway. Its just odd to me. I guess thats the Zoning Administrator interpretation of the c. U. Thats correct. Because it is prepared there. You can correct me if im wrong, but i believe we discussed this specifically with the Zoning Administrator. Ok. Commissioner johnson . I cant believe this is still happen
