Culture, community, and connection are among the most important ideals to the thousands of Bulgarians who have made Massachusetts home, and now this small, proud community will have a local place to showcase all of the ways they connect to the country they hold so dear, the Bulgarian Center of New England (BCNE) on River Street in Billerica.
According to Center member and Framingham resident Nadia Ullman, there are 7,000-10,000 Bulgarian residents in Massachusetts, most settling north of Boston in towns like Billerica, Burlington, Bedford, Waltham, and Winchester.
She said until last year, the BCNE hosted its classes and events in spaces around the area including Waltham.
