encounter with police, police shot michael quarles in the head and medics declared him dead. before he was taken to the medical examiner he started to move. mike hellgren has more on this developing story. reporter: the fire department hasn t identified the medics involved. they have been reassigned. we just talked to the city councilwoman who represents this district. two experienced medics thought michael quarles was dead. his body was on the floor inside this convenience store after a police officer shot him in the head during a violent burglary. sources say the medics left the scene and michael quarles was left on that floor for almost 30 minutes before police officers who were still there noticed movements. you re the owner here? yes. what do you think about oh all that? it s bad. reporter: the fire department oversees paramedics. the spokesperson tells wjz he can t remember anything like this happening before the responding medics have been reassigned pend
and they seem to target very prepubescent and very early teen children, and that is extremely disturbing. reporter: police say nicklas and honea also have a paramedic background. the news has really shocked their essex neighborhood. everybody is pretty much surprised. i mean, everybody that i know that has known them has been surprised about it. nobody can really believe it. reporter: here is what is disturbing. police have not been able to find or identify the children seen on any of the videos. they re asking anyone who knowing if a child has been this contact with the suspects to call the crimes against children unit at 410-853-3650. nicholas is being held without bail and honea s bail is set at $5 million. baltimore city s fire department is trying to figure out how one of its paramedics pronounced a man dead this weekend when he definitely was not. it happened at a northwest baltimore convenience store on garrison boulevard. police answered a burglary alarm and
investigators have no idea who they are, when it happened, or if other victims exist. we have a lot of concerns that many other children may have been abused, filmed, taken part in child pornography by these two who solicited all of these children. neighbors are also concerned. there were quite a few children in that area all the time. i just assumed they were children that lived down there on that block. i never realized that anything like that was going on. it is quite concerned because i have children here. police believe children were abused inside of the home that they shared and in an atlanta hotel room. when police searched the home, they observed a vast amount of prescription bottles. the couple were observed in front of the hidden camera, i just think it prior to the children coming into the room. bail was denied for john nicklas and shannon honea is being held on $500,000 bond. it is becoming an all too familiar case in some areas apartments and town hom
