A couple of months ago, we saw how a YouTuber created the world’s largest and functional PS5 console. Not to be outdone, another YouTuber by the name of Michael Pick has decided to do something similar, except that instead of the PS5, he has opted to create the world’s largest and playable Nintendo Switch console. Advertising According to Pick, the reason behind him creating a larger version was because the smaller version was “easy to lose”. “I really like the Nintendo Switch. It’s small, it’s portable but it’s really easy to lose. And for me, that was a problem. So, I decided to fix that by making something that was just a little bit larger.”

Still, space software engineer Michael Pick took up the challenge of making the world s largest Switch, donating the result to a children s hospital. Pick revealed the process of building the 65-pound, 70 x 30 Switch on his YouTube channel. He put it together using wood, 3D-printed parts, and an actual Switch console hidden inside the creation. The Mega Switch s controls work just like the real thing. A Joy-Con controller is placed under the wood, registering presses of the giant buttons via servos and an Arduino microcontroller. Pick also used a series of rubber bands to center the 3D-printed joysticks over the Jot-Con sticks.

Engineer Michael Pick built the world’s largest Nintendo Switch, complete with fully working controls and a 4K display, and its going to a good home at a children’s hospital. Pick shared the video of his massive Nintendo Switch creation and a demonstration of its functionality via his YouTube channel on April 3, 2021. An engineer who documents his creations, Pick took on the challenge of taking the rather tiny Nintendo Switch and increasing its size by a factor of 650%. This included creating a frame for it from wood, working buttons and joysticks via 3D printing and internal wiring, and a large 4K display for its screen.
