Police: Connecticut Natural Gas responds to gas line pressure issue in West Hartford

WEST HARTFORD Residents who had their gas service shut off as Connecticut Natural Gas responded to “a gas line pressure issue” Sunday should soon see that service come back, according to police.
“A total of 58 homes were affected by this issue and all residents were contacted,” Capt. Michael Perruccio of West Hartford Police wrote in a Sunday evening update. “CNG reports they plan to have all customers’ service restored in the next few hours.”
Company workers went to “the areas of Timrod Road, Brookside Drive, and Cliffmore Road” to attend to the problem, and gas was shut off for “about 50+ homes in that area,” according to a release Perruccio sent out early Sunday afternoon.

WEST HARTFORD Authorities shut down the entrances to the Westfarms Shopping Mall as it was closing Wednesday night for a reported bomb threat, according to police.
Officers were dispatched to the mall on a reported bomb threat around 6:20 p.m., Capt. Michael Perruccio said.
He said West Hartford police and fire units responded, along with Farmington police. Law enforcement officers searched the mall and found “nothing suspicious,” Perruccio said.
The mall was about to close when the threat was made, Perruccio said. He said some area streets were temporarily closed during the investigation.

WEST HARTFORD A minor earthquake hit the town early Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake hit around 1:15 a.m. and was measured at a 1.9 on the Richter scale.
The U.S. Geological Survey indicated the earthquake hit near Tunxis and Woodruff roads.
West Hartford Police Capt. Michael Perruccio said the department received “multiple calls” from residents reporting a loud noise and houses shaking. He said there were no reports of anyone hurt or property damage caused by the incident.
