The House of Representatives Committee on Mines and Steel Development has asked the National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd.), and Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Mr Olamilekan Adegbite, to immediately stop issuing and revoke to sell explosive devices to oil servicing companies operating in Nigeria.
Chairman of the committee, Michael Okon, gave the directive in Abuja on Wednesday after an investigative hearing on the licensing and sale of explosive devices by chief executives of some oil servicing companies.
Okon asked the clerk to the committee to convey the resolution of the lawmakers on the matter to the relevant agencies via letters.
