A Lasting Impact on American Society. This class is about an hour, 20 minutes. All right. So today were going to talk about america during the First World War. And ive called this lecture americans at war the myth busters edition. And i did that kind of intentionally. Because when we think about understanding the First World War in general, there are so many myths and misconceptions that are attached to the war that its really interesting for us to first understand why those myths exist and then to unpam them a little bit and think more about the reality of the experience, right . I want to start first by talking about how this connects to the First World War overall. So its not just america that has these myths, but even this sense of how we understand the First World War to begin with. And we think of the kind of general narrative that we attach to it. One of the most common narratives is that world war i was a senseless slaughter. Right . Weve already talked about the uncertainty as

A little earlier, martin heinrich, talked about todays vote on methane regulations. Heres a look. Mr. President , i am proud that the senate voted to reject an effort to overturn common sense protection to reduce methane waste. It was three years ago that satellite images from nasa revealed that there was a giant cloud of methane. About the size of the state of delaware sitting over the four Corners Region in Northwestern New Mexico and southwestern colorado. Although evidence had shown that there was methane air pollution in the four corners, as early as 2003, the image of the nasa data is truly striking. This is a warning of a potential major threat to Public Health for communities in the region. The San Juan Basin and the four Corners Region has long been a leading producer of oil and natural gas. With the natural gas boom in the mid 2000, production in the basin grew by leaps and bounds. That created hundreds of new highpaying jobs and a major new domestic source of an Important En

Concerns that americans have about people losing coverage. Im a big believer we can cover everybody but reduce costs and bring down those premiums deductibles. I will make a conviction on cspan that before the end of the year that obamacare would will be repealed and a new plan will give people more choices and bring more competition to the health care markets, because thats whats lacking right now. You saw what happened in connecticut where many peoples premiums are going up 40 50 this year. Obamacare the wheels are coming off. Host covering everybody and reducing costs is such a hard thing for congress to try to do. Was your suggestion . Guest several things and one is a nobrainer. Let the people buy insurance across state lines. For example, i live in virginia. But i have an Auto Insurance policy that is based and in ohio company. Why cant you do that with Health Insurance . One of the problems with obamacare is that some of the Health Insurance companies have dropped out of the mar
