JNS.org – Two devices that extract drinking water from the air were donated by Israel to schools in rural Colombia and installed last week in La Guajira, in the northeastern part of the country, which for years has been suffering from a disastrous water crisis.
The donation marks a significant contribution to Colombian President Iván Duque’s “Guajira Azul” program, which includes initiatives that will bring fresh clean drinking water and basic sanitation to the area, and is part of a larger social initiative for the peninsula administered by Colombia’s Housing Ministry.

When the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain agreed to formalize their diplomatic ties with Israel last year, the decision came with a gilded signing bonus a $3 billion fund that would funnel money into private sector-led initiatives meant to foster economic growth and cooperation in the Middle East.
Later, when Sudan and Morocco signaled that they too would establish relations with Israel, the $3 billion of US taxpayer money was opened to them as well.
A statement announcing the fund on October 20 called it “an integral part of the historic peace accord” between Israel and the UAE with the support of the United States.

Israeli technology is set to convert air into clean drinking water for Native American communities in the United States as part of a collaboration between Israeli and American enterprises.
The GEN-M atmospheric water generator requires no special infrastructure except for electricity and collects water by cooling collected air at its dewpoint. The water then goes through physical, chemical and biological treatment followed by a mineralization process to ensure cleanliness and pleasant taste.
