A pornographic video of children was found on the cell phone of a Concord man who avoided jail after he fatally kicked a dog in May 2017, authorities allege. Michael McNicholas, 28, of the 1900 block of Clove Road, “did, knowing the content and character thereof, possess on a cell phone at least one video of children under the age of 16 engaged in sexual conduct, including but not limited to nude sexual intercourse,” according to the criminal complaint. McNicholas has been charged with possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child.

Surging Komets down Indy Fuel with late goal

Thursday night presented a barnburner at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum when the Indy Fuel faced off against their dreaded rival Fort Wayne Komets. The Fuel fought hard all night but let in a goal in the final stages to lose 2-1 in a close one. The Fuel had lost four of their last five games coming into the contest and had been lacking on defense due to injuries and farm system call-ups to the AHL. This week, they made a bold move in trading their veteran captain David Broll to Greenville and acquired two solid defensemen to shore up their backline. The Komets have soared as of late orbiting out of this galaxy winning four games in a row and seven of their first 11. It was all-you-can-eat night at the hockey barn, and the hot dogs and burgers were gone by the first period, but the Fuel was still hungry to get off the weight of a two-game losing streak.

The Indy Fuel are the Double-A affiliate for the Chicago Blackhawks and have treated their loyal hockey fans to a wonderful winning record this season. There haven’t been many occasions when the Indianapolis faithful has left Indiana Farmers Coliseum with a sorrowful feeling.  Their home team hockey organization has inspired them with a strong 18-4 record sitting alone at the top of the standings in the Eastern Conference of the ECHL. Goaltending has been a true staple and cornerstone for Indy Fuel this season as they have put up a winning percentage of 80% and won seven of their last ten games. This past weekend was no different as their dynamic duo of goalies posted consecutive 4-0 shutouts over the Greenville Swamp Rabbits to cap the series on a high note. Saturday night featured starting goalie Dan Bakala taking center stage for Indy and putting on an East 38th Street showstopper in steering away 30 shots on goal from Greenville to right the ship.
