Beginning shepherd program set in northeast Nebraska

Curt Arens LEARN TO LAMB: A beginning shepherd program is coming to Pierce, Neb., focusing on education for young and beginning sheep producers. The daylong program is focused on educational activities for beginning sheep producers. Apr 09, 2021 A beginning shepherd program is being planned for May 1 by the Nebraska Sheep and Goat Producers Association and Nebraska Extension. The program will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Veggie Palace/4-H Livestock Area at the Pierce County Fairgrounds in Pierce, Neb. It will include numerous programs for sheep producers, with a focus on education for new producers. The daylong program includes a session on grazing by Randy Saner, Nebraska Extension educator at North Platte. Rachel Gibb with offer a presentation on beginning flock health. Michael Littlefield is planning a shearing demonstration.
