AMD is Making Crypto Mining GPUs to Tackle The Global Chip Shortage

AMD is Making Crypto Mining GPUs to Tackle The Global Chip Shortage AMD is on its way to follow Nvidia’s footsteps and may release its own lineup of crypto-mining graphics cards based on the RDNA GPU architecture. Much like Nvidia’s motive, AMD is also reportedly doing so to address the global shortage of chip supply. This isn’t the first time that AMD has targeted the crypto mining market as an AMD Navi 10 GPU was spotted in Linux Kernel patches in October last year. These cards lacked essential technologies for gaming and had no display output capabilities. Now, another AMD GPU based on the RDNA architecture has been spotted on the Linux Kernel patches and it appears to be made on the Navi 12 SKU. The Kernel patch from March 3 also mentions that this graphics card lacks gaming capabilities.
