Although the election of regional representatives to the Council of State is over, assembly members in the Kpone Katamanso Municipal Assembly have locked horns with the Presiding Member (PM) and the municipal chief executive (MCE) over how nominations were made to constitute the Electoral College for the council of state election.
The assembly members, including the government appointees, expressed their displeasure about how the processes were handled.
Context
In the Greater Accra Region, a former Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr E. T. Mensah secured 100 per cent of the 58 delegates who were all in white attire and cast their votes for him.

Former Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Mr Enoch Teye Mensah was on Friday given a 100 percent endorsement as the representative of the Greater Accra Region on the Council of State.
Mr Mensah got all the 58 valid votes cast in the election which was held at the Omanye Aba Hall, at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) on Friday. February 12, 2021.
He contested the poll with Mr Michael Kofi Mensah, a Managing Consultant and Mr John Mantse Akwetey, a Communication Specialist who obtained zero vote each.
Another candidate, Mr Charles Parker-Allotey, withdrew from the contest minutes before the commencement of the poll while the former Greater Accra Regional Representative to the Council of State, Nii Kotei Dzani, had earlier withdrawn from the race.
Former Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency Enoch Teye Mensah has won the slot to be the representative of the Greater Accra Region on the Council of State.
A long-time Youth and Sports Minister in the 90s, ET Mensah polled 58 out of 58 votes to win the elections on Friday, February 12.
He beat two other contenders to win the elections, held across the country in accordance with Paragraph (C) of Clause 2 of Article 89 of the 1992 Constitution.
Before the elections, Nii Kotei Dzani, who had represented the Region in the last Council, withdrew from the race.
