Homegrown Austin furniture brand unveils makeover of flagship showroom The renovated showroom will now also serve as a design hub.
Photo by Merrick Ales Austin’s longtime home for trendsetting lifestyle furnishings has received a makeover that will enable the brand to be more hands-on as a design hub.
Four Hands, founded in Austin in 1996 and cherished for its high-end furniture and periodic bargain events, has revamped its flagship showroom at 2090 Woodward St. in South Austin. The major renovation was led by renowned Austin architecture firm Michael Hsu Office of Architecture and the result is far from just window dressing.

Shake Shack opens Downtown Santa Monica location

On Sunday at 11 a.m. Shake Shack will host the grand opening of its new downtown Santa Monica location at 501 Wilshire Boulevard.
The new shack is located in the space formerly occupied by Panera Bread and is just a few blocks from the beach, pier, and 3rd Street Promenade. It offers an indoor “garden room” with skylights, an outdoor patio, and a walk-up window.
For every burger sold on opening day, Shake Shack will donate a burger to the Westside Food Bank. In addition, the first 100 guests to place an order will receive a 16 oz custom Shake Shack glass featuring a decal of the Santa Monica Ferris wheel.

This location will also take part in Shake Shack’s new pilot program with Restore Foodware’s AirCarbon cutlery and straws, highlighting the company’s mission to reduce waste and work towards a more sustainable world and food industry at-large.
Shake Shack announced it will open its doors to its first Santa Monica location on Sunday, April 18 at 11am. The new shack will be located in the coveted, former Panera Bread space at 501 Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica, California. This comes at the start of what is sure to be an exciting year of growth for Shake Shack, which is committed more than ever to providing guests with a premium experience as they welcome people back to their dining rooms.
