Michael Farrer A BURGLAR from Whitefield who broke into a bakery via the roof and stole more than £1,000 in cash has been jailed. Michael Farrer took £1,300 and a safe worth an estimated £1,100 during the burglary at Pound Bakery on Church Street in Runcorn overnight in February last year. The 35-year-old, from Lydgate Walk, was handed 21 months behind bars at Chester Crown Court on Friday, May 28, after admitting burglary. He had pulled to safe into the middle of a room and drilled a large hole into it and used labels and a bag full of till rolls to cover the smoke alarm.
A MAN who burgled a bakery shop in Cheshire has been sentenced to 21 months in prison. Michael Farrer, of South Terrace in Bury, entered Pound Bakery on Church Street, Runcorn, through its roof and stole £1,300 in cash along with a safe worth £1,100. The 35-year-old had pulled the safe into the middle of the room and drilled a large hole into it. Farrer had also taken labels, and a bag that was full of till rolls, and used it to cover the smoke alarm. The burglary occurred sometime after 5pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020. It was reported to police the following morning when an employee returned to work to find the shop had been broken into.
