Tim Boyle is getting another chance to lead the New York Jets' offense. The Jets lost their fourth straight, 34-13 to the Miami Dolphins, with the lasting image being Jevon Holland intercepting and returning Boyle's failed Hail Mary throw 99 yards for a touchdown at the end of the first half. “Just a very unfortunate event that took place,” coach Robert Saleh said Saturday.
The New York Jets activated offensive tackle Duane Brown from the injured reserve list Thursday, putting him on the 53-man roster the day before the team's game against the Miami Dolphins. The Jets had until Thursday afternoon to activate Brown, whose 21-day practice window was expiring. The 38-year-old Brown started the first two games of the season at left tackle, but was sidelined since with a hip injury.
Tim Boyle looks back at his first three NFL starts two years ago and sees a different quarterback. “You've got to feel like you’re dangerous out there,” Boyle said Tuesday. “But, yeah, confidence is everything playing quarterback.”
Hill leads the NFL with 1,222 yards receiving and nine touchdowns, while Waddle has 44 catches for 577 yards and three scores. KEY INJURIES: Rookie RB De'Von Achane's status was in question after he aggravated the same knee last Sunday that caused him to miss the previous four games. Achane was estimated as a limited practice participant at the team's walkthrough Tuesday.
