Jan de Nul has hired PanGeo Subsea to support survey work on the 376MW Formosa 2 offshore wind farm off Taiwan.
PanGeo Subsea will initially provide one sub-bottom imager (SBI) to deliver sub-seabed imaging, with a plan to ship additional SBI units as operations dictate.
The acoustic imaging services are to assist export cable depth of burial work.
PanGeo said it plans to provide technology solutions to other developers in the region as more offshore wind projects are announced.
The surveys will see the SBI image the cables to a depth greater than one-and-a-half-metres depth using a remote operated vehicle for the duration of operations.
