Pharmacy is eager to vaccinate remainder of Phase 1-B
All of phase 1B eligible for vaccine By Hannah Campbell | March 8, 2021 at 9:22 PM CST - Updated March 9 at 5:57 AM
BROOKLAND, Ark. (KAIT) - Governor Asa Hutchinson announced Monday he is expanding Phase 1-B of the COVID-19 vaccine plan to include all categories, including manufacturing, public transport, government services, and other essential categories.
Dr. Michael Barkley, who owns The Pharmacy at Brookland, says it’s a good time for the governor to expand eligibility, and they are contacting people on waitlists to get their vaccine.
While many of those eligible for the vaccine are already on the waiting list, he says they have seen a slight increase in calls.

BROOKLAND, Ark. (KAIT) - Itâs no secret that the nation has been dealing with a shortage of the COVID-19 vaccine, and the same is true in Arkansas and right here in Region 8. More doses are expected to be administered next week.
The Biden Administration is giving states approximately a 17 percent boost in vaccines, starting next week.
The Pharmacy in Brookland is already making preparations.
Pharmacist Dr. Michael Barkley says that they have a waiting list, and they try to schedule fewer people than their available supply to ensure they have enough and so that they donât have to cancel appointments.
