But one church in sioux center is actually seeing their numbers grow. Unsure about a possible suspect in the incident. Des Moines Police tell us they interviewed the victim identified as Dustin Curtis while he was being treated at iowa methodist. Curtis told police that he heard a small pop while getting cigarettes from his car. He said he later discovered a small wound to his stomach and was taken to the emergency room. However, police say there are inconsistencies in curtis story as well as that of a witness. It happened around 10 30 last night at 1422 east 17th court. 22yearold Dustin Lee Curtis of des moines told police he was visiting his child and girlfriend. He walked outside to his car and heard a pop sound, then felt pain in his stomach. Police say the incident is suspicious and believe curtis wound may be self inflicted to gain sympathy from his girlfriend. The case remains under investigation.
