For many years i helped facilitate a free stop Smoking Program for the Lgbt Community here. My brothers and sisters, mostly in their 40s, 50s and 60s, this program is called the last drag. And time and time again we hear the same stories from those who attend the last drag, and that is that their first exposure to nicotine began at age 15, 16, and at some point they discovered that they were hooked for life. And this is why we really ought to call what were talking about here an adolescent disease. From personal experience im comfortable saying the vast majority of teens who smoke these colorful flavorful ecigarettes are not smoked cigarettes and have no interest in smoking. Use of these cigarettes, im quoting, the use of ecigarettes in all areas where other Tobacco Products are banned. We gave several reasons. One, smokefree policies protect nonsmokers from exposure to toxins and encourage smoking cessation. Two, introducing Electronic Cigarettes into clean air environments created by smokefree policies reinforces the act of smoking and socially acceptable ~ as socially acceptable.
